A photo of a cyclist being hit with black exhaust from a passing truck during a race in Utah is going viral.
Andrew Danly was out on a ride on Highway 14, Utah while his friend Michael Conti waited to photograph him on his bike. Danly was racing in the Hoodoo 300 bike race as he received an unwelcome cloud of black exhaust in what appears to be an example of “Rolling Coal”.
Conti happened to be in the right place at the right time to capture the following images of a pickup truck apparently emitting a large cloud of black exhaust in the direction of his friend.
“I didn’t expect that to happen by any means,” Conti said. “I was more shocked than anything that I actually captured it.”
Salt Lake County Health Department jumped in to encourage commenters to report coal-rolling incidents.
“There’s no time, place, or reason for these types of exhaust modifications to exist,” a Health Department spokesperson wrote.
