Chris Froome has undergone what is expected to be the last surgery of his recovery process from the serious injuries he sustained in a crash earlier this year.
Froome went under the knife to remove metalwork from his hip and elbow as he continues his recovery from a serious crash which sidelined him from this year’s Tour de France.
The Ineos rider posted an image from his hospital bed on Instagram, Friday.
“Less some hardware from my hip and leg,” he said. “Feeling groggy but all went perfectly.”

Froome fractured a thigh, elbow and vertebrae in a high speed crash during June’s Criterium du Dauphine.
But his burning ambition to win a fifth Tour de France title next July and a possible participation at the Tokyo Olympics road race just a week after the end of the Tour are inspiring his recovery.
The four-time Tour de France champion was back riding his bike by September and in late October took part in the team time trial at the Saitama Criterium, an end-of-season exhibition event in Japan, but said he was not yet ready to ride in a peloton.
