Chris Froome returns on custom Pinarello Dogma F12 X-Light

Chris Froome is back racing this weekend at the Saitama Criterium in Japan and he rides a shiny new bike with a special paint job to ride.

Pinarello has released a very special Dogma F12 X-Light for the four-time Tour de France winner to ride. The Italian bike brand has chosen to celebrate Froome’s multiple Grand Tour victories with colour stripes representing the Tour, Giro and Vuelta on the fork and seat tube.

The X-Light version of Pinarello’s racing bike has been the choice of Team Ineos riders in the last few years, with the weight difference (720g frame weight) coming into its own in the high mountains throughout the grand tours.

Naturally, such a light frame from such a premium bike brand has led to a whopping price tag of €7,000 for the F12 rim brake frame and €7,200 for the F12 disc brake version.

The bike uses ‘the Torayca T1100 UD Dream Carbon material’ to provide a 100g reduction in weight from the regular model.
