UCI has overturned the results of the Volta a Catalunya team time trial, after the whole Movistar squad was penalised one minute for pushing.

BMC finished two seconds behind Movistar, but they have now been promoted to first place ahead of the third stage, the 188.3-kilometres mountainous route from Mataro to La Molina. Ben Hermans is the new race leader.

Jose Joaquin Rojas was initially designated as Volta a Catalunya new leader, but was penalized three minutes for pushing teammate Nelson Oliveira back into the rotation.

But this morning, the UCI have announced that the entire Movistar team have been punished, in accordance with their own rules and in the wake of criticism from BMC team.
