Vincenzo Nibali peformed an amazing piece of riding during the final kilometers of the opening stage at the Tour de France, avoiding a crash by riding up the sidewalk.
Showing again his bike handling skills, the Italian avoided a collision with his teammate Damiano Caruso. Jakob Fuglsang was the most notable casualty, with the Dane able to remount with blood pouring down his face from a cut above his eye.
