In recent days, images have surfaced on social media showing that sports director Davide Bramati is taking something out of the back pocket of the fallen rider. A lot of speculation was immediately sent out into the world. To the extent that the international cycling union asked UCI to open an investigation.

“What happened? Bramati has descended into the ravine after Remco’s fall and has removed all hard objects to protect him from additional injury: his helmet, his radio and also a water bottle – in this case a holder only a few centimeters in size. What is in such a bottle? Cola, Red Bull or a little caffeine. Nothing that is prohibited. Our team certainly does not contain any painkillers, because our team does not practice bastard”, Patrick Lefevere responded.

But the UCI still wants to take a closer look at the incident. “We have the CADF (Cycling Anti-Doping Foundation) asked to further investigate the television images and to question witnesses about the object that fell out of Evenepoel’s pocket ”, said David Lappartient.
