According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Total Direct Energie is in pole position to sign Peter Sagan.

Will the three-time world champion be tempted by a French team? Jean-René Bernaudeau seems to be negotiating in this direction, but Israel Start-up Nation is also interested now.

“These are just rumors”, French team manager brushed aside information from Gazetta dello Sport that he would try to recruit Peter Sagan for next season.

But today, a journalist from the Italian newspaper said that Total Direct Energie “could be the next team” for the Slovak rider, saying that the Deceuninck-Quick-Step option is no longer viable.

Sagan would like to take with him his teammates Daniel Oss, Maciej Bodnar, his brother Juraj Sagan, as well as his masseur, his mechanic and his press officer.

After the arrivals in 2019 of Niki Terpstra and those of Pierre Latour and Edvald Boasson Hagen this year, Total Direct Energie would gain even more notoriety by signing one of the biggest stars of cycling.
