Rohan Dennis will not be part of the Jumbo-Visma team for the Tour de Romandie and has been replaced by Lennard Hofstede.

“Unfortunately I won’t be signing on at Romandie this year,” Dennis writes on social media. “I woke up sick yesterday, the team and I have agreed that it’s better to rest and recover for the next races and goals.”

Nothing has changed in the rest of the Jumbo-Visma selection. The Dutch WorldTeam brings – in addition to Hofstede – Robert Gesink, Steven Kruijswijk, Jos van Emden, Gijs Leemreize, Thomas Gloag and Tobias Foss to the start.

Gloag previously expressed his expectations about the Tour de Romandie.

“There is one real mountain stage and I am curious how far I can get,” said the 21-year-old Briton.

“I have also been working hard on my time trial. I will have to put in a lot more effort in the future, but I am excited about the two time trials in this race.”
