Watch: Prades crashes when saddle falls off as he celebrates… second place

Eduard Prades suffered an ignominious incident on the finish line of the first stage of the Tour of Hellas in Greece.

The Caja Rural rider thought he was crossing the finish line to win the stage so celebrated with the traditional two-armed salute.

However, at the very instant he was raising his hands, his saddle fell off sending him crashing to the ground. With his hands aloft, Prades can be seen to fall off the back end of his saddle, and land bottom-first on the asphalt in front of the fast charging peloton.

His unfortunate experience was then compounded when he realised he hadn’t won the stage after all.
