Vincenzo Nibali is linked with a move to Ineos Grenadiers in 2022, after his contract with Trek-Segafredo will expire.
Italian’s agent Alex Carera debunked those rumours a month ago, but now he’s apparently leaving the door open.
“It’s complicated, but in cycling everything is possible,” Carera told Marca about the possible transfer of the knowledgeable Italian, winner of four Grand Tours. “It’s difficult, but not impossible.”
Nibali is not the only big rider in the Carera portfolio, who runs the management agency A&J All Sports together with his brother. Tour winner Tadej Pogačar also uses their services, just like Chris Froome before.
Last month, the news of a possible transfer for Nibali to the British team came from Italian cycling journalist Beppe Conti, according to him Nibali has already received an offer from the British team. “It looks like the offer is coming through Pinarello.”
