Movistar have signed up Italians Dario Cataldo and Davide Villella from Astana on two-year deals.
The Spanish team hailed the pair’s “solid all-terrain” qualities and experience 10 days before the start of La Vuelta.
Cataldo, 34, won a stage in Giro d’Italia this year while Villella, 28, was the best climber on the 2017 Vuelta a Espana.
Movistar are looking to fill the gaps created following the exits of Nairo Quintana and Mikel Landa.
World champion Alejandro Valverde will stay witht Movistar in 2020, while Enric Mas has been signed from Deceuninck-Quick-Step.
