Gidich storms to CRO Race lead with stage 3 triumph

Yevgeniy Gidich won the third stage of the CRO Race, shortened due to extreme weather conditions.

Stage 3 took its start in Okrug, but after 20 km the jury decided to stop the race due to dangerous wind conditions. The stage has been neutralized and restarted later from a point with 43 km to the finish line in Makarska.

After a perfect lead-out done by Davide Villella, Gidich launched his sprint with 200 meters to go to take the stage victory and the red jersey from Eduard Grosu.

Gidich held off Grega Bole (Bahrain-Merida) and Alex Edmondson (Mitchelton-Scott) to take the win.

He moved into the lead in the general classification of the CRO Race, having 6 seconds on Alex Edmondson and 10 seconds on Grega Bole.
