George Bennett will be in New Zealand this winter. Initially, the Jumbo-Visma rider seemed to stay in Europe, but Bennett has now returned home.
Due to the strict coronavirus measures in New Zealand, Bennett must first stay in quarantine for two weeks. It means that the Jumbo-Visma rider will not leave his hotel room for the next two weeks.
Thanks to the help of some compatriots, the second place of Il Lombardia can continue to train from his bathroom this year.
“Ergo parked up next to the shitter, living the pro cyclist dream. We made a last minute call to head home and see the whanau which means 2weeks in a small hotel room in managed isolation first just to make sure we are not bringing the spicy cough to the land of the long white cloud”, Bennett wrote on Instagram.
