Matej Mohoric is looking ahead to the 2024 season and the Slovenian is setting a high bar for next year.
“I have two big goals for 2024: the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix,” says the Slovenian.
Mohoric won his first Monument in 2022 at Milano-Sanremo, but the 29 year-old wants to add to his palmares the two big cobbled classics. The Bahrain Victorious rider finished 5th in the 2020 Paris-Roubaix, but hopes to stand on the podium next year in Roubaix and Flanders.
“For me, winning Milano-Sanremo was the realisation of a dream, but Flanders and Roubaix are goals that I still want to achieve. That is what my focus is. The Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix are my two big goals for 2024.”
Mohoric also hopes to shine in the Tour de France again after this year he managed to win another Tour stage.
“I’m going for even more stage wins. I hope there will be opportunities for the attackers next year. I haven’t looked at the route properly yet, but I know we will have a stage on unpaved roads. However, I am not just looking at this stage. I have the luxury of not having to think about a general classification and being able to take some risks every now and then.”
