Rui Costa had a nightmare start at Tour de Romandie with his bike’s chainring coming off with first pedal stroke, before even descending the start ramp of the opening time trial.
The Portuguese rider appeared to hurt his knee during this bizarre incident, which forced him to change the time trial bike to his road bike. He finished last, 4min52s behind prologue winner Josef Cerny.
