Rafael Reis charged to victory in the opening prologue of the Volta a Portugal in Lisbon.
The 82nd Volta a Portugal, where Amaro Antunes will try to defend his title from last year, started with a 5.4 kilometer prologue through Lisbon. The route was flat and had only three corners.
Rafael Reis completed the course in 6 minutes and 10 seconds and was the fastest rider of the day. His teammate Mauricio Moreira was second, 10 seconds slower, while Lluis Mas of Movistar finished with the third time.
