Olympic champion Richard Carapaz will be riding on a golden bike for the next few months.

His Ineos Grenadiers team unveiled the new paint job on his Pinarello bike ahead of the start of the Vuelta a Espana.

Carapaz produced a sensational finishing burst in the Olympic road race, soloing to victory at the Fuji Speedway after dropping his rivals. He became only the second Ecuadorean to win an Olympic gold after Jefferson Perez in the 20km walk at Atlanta 1996.

The custom Pinarello Dogma F has golden highlights on the top tube and seat stays, with the traditional team colors running down the seat tube.

The build is identical to that which Carapaz, and the rest of the Grenadiers, rode before his Tokyo win. Shimano provides the Dura-Ace Di2 groupset, wheels, and pedals.

The integrated stem and handlebar is from Pinarello’s components brand, Most. While Fizik, Continental, and Elite provide the saddle, tyres, and bottle cages.
