Amaro Antunes (W52-FC Porto) won the 82nd edition of the Volta a Portugal after a dramatic final stage won by the Rafael Reis (Efapel).
Antunes benefited from the fall of his biggest rival, Mauricio Moreira. The Efapel rider was making up time and was on the track to win the overall when he lost control of the bike and crashed heavy.
The fall of the Uruguyan rider allowed enough margin for Amaro Antunes to celebrate the victory with a margin of 10 seconds. Alejandro Marque finished third overall.
