The AG2R Citroën is one of the teams that changes its bicycle brand in the new season, going from the Eddy Merckx that it has used in recent years to BMC.
“I’ve won Paris-Roubaix, the Rio Olympics, and all my major victories on the BMC Teammachine SLR01 and I have such fond memories of my time on BMC bikes,” Greg Van Avermaet said recently. “The Ag2r-Citroën project was very attractive to me for various reasons and the chance to ride BMC again eventually made my decision an easy one to make.”
The French team officially presented the BMC Teammachine SLR01 with which they will compete this year. The new bike is white, with red and black details, and with components from Campagnolo. It is equipped with the Campagnolo Super Record EPS disc brake groupset, Campagnolo Bora WTO and Bora Ultra wheels, Pirelli tires, Fi’zi:k saddles, Power2Max power meters and Wahoo ELEMNT ROAM cyclocomputers.
“Campagnolo is renowned in the cycling world for its performance products, its racing heritage and love for the sport. Combining such an excellent brand with our new bike partner BMC gives me great confidence as we head into a new chapter for the AG2R Citroën Team,” team manager Vincent Lavenu said.
