RCS has announced the wildcard teams invited to the 2019 Giro d’Italia, with organisers falling in favour of Italian teams and the Israel Cycling Academy.
Androni Giocattoli-Sidermec, Bardiani-CSF, and Nippo-Vini Fantini will take the start alongside Israel Cycling Academy when the three-week race begins May 11.
Neri Sottoli – Selle Italia, Luca Scinto’s team that have competed at every Giro d’Italia since 2011, have missed out on selection this time around.
Israel Cycling Academy makes the cut for a second year after 2018 when the race departed from Israel.
RCS Sport also announced its invitations to Strade Bianche, Tirreno-Adriatico and Milan-San Remo.
