Images have emerged of Primoz Roglic crashing yesterday on the penultimate descent during stage 9 of the Vuelta.
As he came round a bend, the Jumbo-Visma rider found a neutral service moto in his path and crashed, but managed to return to the bike and fight for the third position of the day.
Y así fue la caída de Roglic. Entró en el camino de barro junto con @alejanvalverde@NairoQuinCo y de repente se le fue la rueda. Día complicado ayer en Andorra. ¿Quién dijo que esto fuera fácil? #roglic #ciclismo #lavuelta #vueltaciclistaespaña #camaraman #motocamara #LaVuelta19 pic.twitter.com/6Yynua9QhE

“It was very chaotic at one point,” said sports director Addy Engels. “Not only because of the gravel but also because of the bad weather conditions. Primoz crashed on the gravel due to a stationary motorbike. That is not okay and should not happen. All in all, I think that, given the situation at one point, we have done some good business GC-wise. We are in a good position before Tuesday’s time trial. Although we will never know what would have been possible without that crash.
