The crowds have been fantastic this week at the Tour of Rwanda and on today’s stage into Kigali the scenes were really extraordinary.
The organisers of the race have posted footage showing how massive are the crowds in Rwanda. Today’s 103.9-kilometre stage took the riders from Musanze to the Wall of Kigali, race’s version of the mythical Mur de Huy.
The stage was won by Rwandan rider Valens Ndayisenga after a well-timed attack on the final climb. Ndayisenga finished ahead of his Eritrean trade team-mate Metkel Eyob with Tesfom Okubamariam (Eritrea) in third.

The riders had originally been scheduled to tackle the climb twice but this was reduced to just one ascent due to inclement weather.
