The parcours of this year’s race promises to keep us on the edge of our seat. The organisers of the race have really pulled it off by starting in the city of cycling. With no further due: Welcome to the Tour de France 2022 and welcome to Copenhagen!
Stage 1 preview
The opening time trial is a 13.2 km effort and is as flat as it could be. Some experts have outlined the tight technical corners on the second part of the course. The biggest element however is the weather as rain is expected later in the day and this has already impacted the start list.
Favourites usually tend to go last but this time, the big guns have scheduled themselves to go earlier to avoid the late rain fall. Jeremy Lecroq will be the first rider to set out on the 13.2 km parcours and try to finish it in the fastest time possible. The main riders for the stage and the general classifications will as follow:

Stage win predictions:
★★★★☆ Filippo Ganna: The world time trial champion is the big favorite on this flat segment and has made it his target to wear Le Maillot Jaune on his first participation.
★★★☆☆ Wout Van Aert: The tout- terrain superstar has closed the gap between and Ganna in terms of time-trial but it will take something special for Wout to beat the Italian.
★★☆☆☆ Mads Pedersen : The 2019 world champion is on home ground and has worked a lot on his time-trial to be able to dream of wearing yellow at some point in the next 3 days.
★☆☆☆☆ Kasper Asgreen , Magnus Cort Nielsen, Mathieu Van Der Poel: While the former 2 named are Danish, aim of whom of winning the opening time trial is not unachievable , the Dutch superstar has already shown on all his time-trial in Grand Tours, that he can mean business if he wants to!
