Paolo Simion (Bardiani-CSF) grabbed the win on the last day of the Tour of Croatia on Sunday, coasting in 11 seconds ahead of fellow Italian Mirco Maestri (Bardiani-CSF).
Kanstantsin Siutsou (Bahrain-Merida) easily defended his red leader’s jersey in the final stage.
“We just controlled the race and the guys did a perfect job bringing me in the front position, supporting me entering the circuit and until the end. Mohorič asked to can take his opportunities and I agreed. Then I just tried to do my best. The best way to defend is to attack. So I attacked in the last climb and everything’s went as planned. We confirmed last year win and I’m happy for the whole team, because we did a really good job this week. It has been a hard, but a beautiful week and not only in Croatia, but also in other races where we were competing. I think we’re ready for the Giro”, said Siutsou.
