Rui Costa (UAE Abu Dhabi) claimed the queen stage of the Vuelta a San Juan on Alto Colorado.
The former world champion was part of a small lead group in the final kilometers and jumped away from his rivals at the last moment to take the first victory for the new UAE Abu Dhabi team.
Rodolfo Torres (Androni–Sidermec) finished second at 3s, ahead of Ricardo Escuela (Argentina), Oscar Sevilla (Medellin-Inder) and Bauke Mollema (Trek-Segafredo).
Mollema moves into the lead in the general classification with a 14-second advantage over Sevilla.
