The first stage of the race formerly known as Eneco Tour was a 169.8 kilometres flat course that was set to finish in a bunch sprint, which was indeed the case.
The bunch sprint was fast and even though Bauhaus went ahead first, Peter Sagan was soon next to him and managed to cross the line just ahead of the German.
