Peter Sagan will make his Giro d’Italia debut in 2020, potentially paving the way for Sam Bennett to race the Tour de France for Bora-hansgrohe.
Sagan has never ridden the Giro d’Italia, making it the only Grand Tour stage victory missing for the 29-year-old.
He will be in attendance at the Giro’s route presentation in Milan this Thursday afternoon, alongside 2018 Giro winner Richard Carapaz.
Sagan tweeted on Wednesday: “Hey you! Something important will be announced tomorrow”.

With Sagan potentially riding the Giro, that could leave the Tour de France free for Pascal Ackermann or Sam Bennett to make their debut.
The 2020 Giro d’Italia will begin on 9th May in Budapest, Hungary.
