Miguel Angel Lopez (Astana) took the overall victory of the Tour Colombia as Nairo Quintana (Movistar) won the queen stage in dramatic fashion.
The final stage finished atop of the 15.5km climb of Alto Viva Palmas, and came down to a thrilling final battle. After series of attacks by Quintana, Lopez, and Winner Anacona in the final kilometers, the large lead group had been whittled down to Quintana, Ivan Sosa, Egan Bernal, and Lopez.
With three kilometres to go, some fans crashed against the front men and took Quintana and Sosa to the ground, while Lopez and Bernal went ahead.
Sosa came back, but he and Lopez marked each other out, waiting for the other to make the first move. This allowed Quintana to make it back to his rivals and power past them with 1km to go, taking victory by eight seconds. Sosa and Lopez finished on the same time in second and third respectively.
Miguel Angel Lopez He won the race by four seconds ahead of Sosa and 42 seconds to Daniel Martinez (EF Education First). Bernal finished fourth and Quintana fifth.
