Deceuninck-Quick-Step may have enjoyed a dream stage 3 in the Tour de France, but things didn’t go quite so well for Kasper Asgreen today.
The Danish rider was able to finish the stage after a nasty crash but was seen walking to an ambulance with cuts to his face afterwards. The young rider missed a traffic island in the middle of the road and snapped his bike in two.

Asgreen rolled across the line on a spare bike as Julian Alaphilippe was been presented with the yellow jersey on the podium after claiming stage 3 in Épernay.
Pictures of Asgreen’s bike emerged on social media, showing the frame in broken in half. The extent of Asgreen’s injuries are not clear, but Patrick Lefevere said he hope that Asgreen can continue.
