Primoz Roglic and Steven Kruijswik were two of the four Jumbo-Visma riders to hit the deck a crash during the opening stage of the Vuelta, a crash caused by a wet road surface.
The disaster struck the Dutch team midway through the team time trial when four riders hit the deck after rolling through a wet patch in the road.
It seems that water started flowing onto the course from a garden. People started frantically trying to mop it up, but the crashes were unavoidable at that point.
Brutal for Jumbo. Half the team went down on that corner #LaVuelta19 pic.twitter.com/WfCr6FoUek

To make matters worse, Deceuninck-Quick-Step were coming behind them and they got held up a little by the Jumbo-Visma team car that was parked on the road as the staff aided the crashed riders.
UAE Team Emirates also suffered a crash on the same corner.
