Fuglsang beats Porte and Froome on an epic photo finish in Dauphine stage six

Jakob Fuglsang (Astana) has taken the victory at the sixth stage of the Criterium Du Dauphine. The Danish rider won an epic photo finish, outsprinting Richie Porte (BMC)  and Chris Froome (Team Sky).

Alejandro Valverde (Movistar), Romain Bardet (AG2R) and Daniel Martin (Quick-Step Floors) arrived at 50 seconds from the stage winner and Contador at one minute and six seconds.

Fabio Aru, who was first atop the demanding ascent up the Mont du Chat (8.7 km at 10.3 per cent) after attacking some four km from the top, was caught in the descent by Froome, Porte and his teammate Fuglsang. The Dane narrowly beat Porte in a tight sprint.

Richie Porte leads now the General Classification, Froome is in second place at 39 seconds and Fuglsang completes the top three at one minute and fifteen seconds from the leader.
