Kevin Reza was the victim of racist remarks during the third stage of the Tour de Romandie, Team Sky has confirmed.
Nicolas Portal, Team Sky’s directeur sportif, said that the incident involving Gianni Moscon is unacceptable and that the incident would be dealt with internally.
“Gianni is a young rider but he had a behavior that cannot be accepted. He apologized last night and again this morning”, said Portal.

Following Friday’s Tour de Romandie stage, Kevin Reza could be seen remonstrating with Moscon. Reza’s teammate Sebastian Reichenbach later tweeted about an incident of racial abuse, although he did not name Moscon.
“Shocked to hear fools still use racial slurs in the pro peloton. You are a shame for our sport,” said Reichenbach.
Choqué d’entendre encore des imbéciles utiliser des insultes racistes dans le peloton pro. Vous êtes une honte pour notre sport. ? #TDR2017
