Canada’s men were an early casualty in the team pursuit when all four riders crashed heavily and limped from the track during their qualifying heat against New Zealand.
The crash was caused by a touch of wheels between the lead rider of the Canadian squad, and the fourth member of the New Zealand team. All four Canadian riders were left sliding across the boards of the Hong Kong Velodrome, with the track needing repairing afterwards.
