After winning on Alto do Malhão on Saturday, Tom Pidcock couldn’t defend his overall lead at the Volta ao Algarve’s time trial on last stage, but defended his skin and bones in a sketchy moment in which he almost lost control of his bike.
The Ineos rider came in too fast into a sharp left hand turn and nearly lost control. He veered off the road and onto a raised dirt banking, which he navigated masterfully before bunny-hopping back onto the road.
