Jonas Vingegaard has confirmed his participation in the 2025 Vuelta a Espana, set to begin on August 23 in Turin, Italy.
The Danish cyclist aims to add another Grand Tour title to his plamares after finishing second in the 2025 Tour de France behind rival Tadej Pogacar. Vingegaard last competed in the Vuelta in 2023, where he secured second place overall behind teammate Sepp Kuss, alongside two stage victories.
This year, he enters the race as the team’s undisputed leader, with the challenging Spanish course featuring ten uphill finishes suiting his strengths. “
I’m looking forward to the Vuelta,” Vingegaard said after the Tour. “I’ll take a week of rest, but I’m fresher than last year and ready to compete.”
The 2025 Vuelta promises a fierce competition, with speculation surrounding Pogacar’s potential participation. A rematch between the two cycling titans could elevate the race’s intensity, given their rivalry.
