Kanstantsin Siutsou (Bahrain-Merida) climbed to victory in the queen stage of the Tour of Croatia on Thursday, proving best on the summit finish of Sveti Jure.
The Belarussian crossed the finish line four seconds ahead of Pieter Weening (Roompot-Nederlandse Loterij) and 49 in front of Yevgeniy Gidich (Astana), thus landing his first victory in almost two years.
His victory sees him leap 33 places in the overall standings, taking the race leader’s jersey from Eduard Grosu (Nippo – Vini Fantini). He ends the day eight seconds in front of Weening and 47 in front of Gidich.
