LottoNL-Jumbo has confirmed the signing of Tony Martin. The four-time World time trial champion will join the Dutch formation after spending the two last seasons at Katusha-Alpecin.
“I’m looking forward to joining Team LottoNL-Jumbo. I share their philosophy,” said Martin. “The riders are a unit, and the staff work on every detail to support them. Especially their approach to time trials is appealing to me. It’s known that the team put a lot of efforts in that direction. My ambition is to become a prominent team player by supporting the leaders and being successful in the time trials.”
Martin has found success harder to come by at Katusha-Alpecin, his sole victories in the colours of the Swiss team coming in the shape of his sixth and seventh German national time trial titles.
LottoNL-Jumbo manager Richard Plugge said: “Tony is the missing link we were still looking for. He brings a cartload of experience and is a top professional.
