Tadej Pogacar missed out the time trial victory in stage 7 at the Tour de France, but the yellow jersey man was happy with his ride.

“I am satisfied with my performance,” Pogacar said afterwards. “I went into the red for a moment after the climb. Fortunately I was able to get going again on the descent and on the last part.”

“So I’m happy with my performance today. I knew along the way that I was setting a good time, but I didn’t knew the exact differences,” said the Slovenian.

In the general classification, Pogacar has a lead of 33 seconds over Evenepoel after stage seven. Jonas Vingegaard is now more than a minute behind.

“I’m taking time on the rest and I can be satisfied with that,” Pogacar said. “Whether Remco is now a threat to the general classification? Yes, of course. You never know. This is the Tour.”
