Five months after his last race, Quinn Simmons is ready to return to the peloton at the Vuelta a Burgos.
The American has not raced since Strade Bianche and during this period LIDL-Trek has not communicated any physical problems for Simmons or what else it’s happening.
Simmons recalled the crash he was involved at the 2023 Tour de France, a high-speed accident that saw the American get back on his bike bruised and grazed. The rider remained in the race for three more stages, before abandoning. That crash, however, left its mark on Simmons’ body and mind
“One year ago today I made probably the worst decision of my career and got back on the bike. Been a fight, but things are finally starting to look better. Hopefully a month of proper training to come and then 🤞 back across the pond in August”, said Simmons on Instagram,
After withdrawing from the 2023 Tour de France, Simmons races just 18 days in total, without managing to particularly show off, unlike what was his trademark, that of a rider often on the attack and always ready to give it his all in the race.
