Primoz Roglic: I don’t have full confidence yet

Primoz Roglic gave a heavy blow to his rivals in the thirteenth stage of the Vuelta a Espana. The Slovenian rode away on the final climb, distancing Enric Mas and red jersey Ben O’Connor.

“Sometimes you win something, sometimes you lose something. Today I was on the right side,” Roglic said after stage 13.

Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe took the initiative on Puerto de Ancares, the last climb of the day. Did Roglic feel that O’Connor was struggling?

“Not really. The only thing I can influence is myself. I try to do my best, together with the team. And it was enough.”

This success should give Roglic a lot of confidence for the tough weekend that is still to come.

“Yes, but like I said: let’s enjoy this first. It’s nice to gain some time, it’s nice when things go well, but I also feel tough efforts like this. We have to take it day by day.”

“I don’t have full confidence yet. That’s why we rode a bit conservatively. We’ll take it day by day and see how it goes.”
