In the 25km time trial between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Gevrey-Chambertin at the Tour de France, Primoz Roglic was third behind Remco Evenepoel and Tadej Pogacar.
Although he lost 34 seconds to stage winner Remco Evenepoel, the Slovenian gained a few seconds on Jonas Vingegaard.
“I can be optimistic,” Roglic said. “It’s been a long time since I rode such a tough seventh stage of the Tour de France.”
“It wasn’t a good sign that I started off the first of the favourites because they are currently a bit better. But I’m optimistic, I’m happy. We go forward.”
