Sparks flew in the 2025 Tour de France as yellow jersey holder Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) clashed with Matteo Jorgenson (Visma-Lease a Bike) during a heated moment in the stage 8 feed zone.
The 171.4-kilometer stage from Saint-Méen-le-Grand to Laval, won by Jonathan Milan in a sprint, was very calm until this mid-race scuffle caught on camera. As riders scrambled for water bottles, Jorgenson zipped past Pogacar on the right, blocking the Slovenian’s path to his team’s bidon station, positioned just 10 meters ahead. In a flash of frustration, Pogacar shoved Jorgenson, causing the American to miss his own bidon.
“They [Visma-Lease a Bike] act like they own the feed zone!”, Pogacar fumed post-race, demanding more respect from rivals.
The incident, while not penalized by the race jury, fueled buzz on X, with fans pointing to bad blood between Pogacar and Visma-Lease a Bike from past races.
The drama didn’t shake the general classification, with Pogacar holding his 54-second lead over Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-QuickStep), followed by Kévin Vauquelin (Arkéa-B&B Hotels) at 1:11 and Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) at 1:17.
