Sebastian Molano took his second victory of the season with an impressive sprint win from a five man breakaway at the GP de Denain in France.
The Colombian becomes the first ever Colombian winner in the 64 editions of the race after he slipped away in a group with 20km to go alongside his teammate Mikkel Bjerg.
Molano was the fastest man of the group and was able to power past Tim Van Dijk (Jumbo-Visma) to take the win.
“I’m very happy, I had great legs today”, said Molano. “The team worked perfectly to put me in the right position especially Mikkel Bjerg who sacrificed himself for the team. This victory is for all my teammates, all the staff, my family. I’m so thankful to everybody. Since UAE Tour I’ve been feeling good and want to make the most of this run of form.”
