Michael Matthews (Team Sunweb) made it two Canadian wins in two after he showcased an impressive sprint to surpass Sonny Colbrelli (Bahrain-Merida) as he took Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal.
Matthews becomes only the second rider to complete the Canadian double, following his compatriot Simon Gerrans’ success in 2014.
Greg Van Avermaet (BMC) rounded up Sunday’s podium as last year’s wiiner Diego Ulissi (UAE Team Emirates) placed seventh. Guillaume Boivin proved the fastest Canadian in 19th.
