Lenny Martinez will ride for Bahrain Victorious in 2025 after the French rider has signed a three-year contract with the Middle Eastern team.

Martinez is considered a great climbing prospect. After turning pro with Groupama-FDJ last year, he has already six victories. In 2023 he won the CIC-Mont Ventoux and this year he was the best in the Classic Var, Trofeo Laigueglia, Classic Grand Besancon Doubs, Tour du Doubs and Mercan’Tour Classic Alpes-Maritimes. He also finished second in O Gran Camino, eighth in Strade Bianche, seventh in the Volta a Catalunya and eighth in the Tour de Romandie.

Several teams wanted to sign Martinez as his father confirmed earlier this year. In addition to Bahrain Victorious, INEOS Grenadiers, Visma-Lease a Bike and his current team Groupama-FDJ were interested to sign or resign the young rider.

“I am extremely happy to join Bahrain Victorious for the next three seasons”, says Martinez. “The solid project around the team and myself convinced me. Together, we have great ambitions, and I am convinced we will achieve great things. I would like to thank the Groupama FDJ team, who accompanied me during my first years in the professional ranks.”

Milan Erzen, Managing Director of Team Bahrain Victorious, shared his thoughts on the new signing.

“When we started this project in 2017, we dreamed of achieving a podium at the Tour de France with a French rider from our team. We believe Lenny gives us that chance. His talent, dedication, and spirit align perfectly with our team’s vision. France has a rich history of great champions in our sport, and we want to help Lenny create his own legacy in French cycling. We are excited to support him in reaching his full potential and achieving great things together.”
