Joshua Tarling was one of the big favorites for a medal in the individual time trial at the Olympic Games in Paris and only an early puncture made him miss a medal.
Tarling was in the lead before the puncture and he eventually finished 27 seconds short of gold medal and just two seconds short of bronze.
“S**t happens, eh? Everyone put a lot of effort in and… it happens… [I had a] front puncture and it was on the rim. With that corner coming up I had to change”, said the young British rider.
“I don’t know how much that incident cost me. So I don’t want to think too hard about what could have happened.”
“Right now it’s annoying… I’ve still got the road race to come so I’ll give that a good go.”
