According to new rumours, Jonas Vingegaard would like to make his debut in the Giro d’Italia in 2025.
Vingegaard, who will not be in action for the rest of this season, is said to have already expressed his wish internally. The team will decide later – after a thorough analysis – whether they will indeed send the rider to Italy.
Of the major tours, Vingegaard has so far only ridden the Tour de France (four times) and the Vuelta a Espana (twice). At the Tour, he came first twice and second twice. At the Vuelta, he made his debut in 2020 with a 46th place and was runner-up in 2023.
It is not impossible that Vingegaard will combine the Giro d’Italia with the Tour de France in 2025. After all, his major competitor Tadej Pogacar also did so successfully last season. The Slovenian won the Giro with a landslide in May and was then also in a class of his own at the Tour.
