Fabio Jakobsen ran into problems early in the twelfth stage of the Tour de France and rode alone with the broom wagon for a while, but got off the bike after a while.
“Tough times never last but tough people do,” the Dsm-firmenich PostNL team posted on social media.
“After battling through a fast and climb-filled #TDF2024, Fabio Jakobsen is forced to abandon the Tour, not feeling 100%.
It is not yet clear when we will see Jakobsen back on a race. The Dutchman had made a big goal of the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France this year, but both races were disappointing. In both Italy and France he had to retire early and was unable to win any stage.
