French supermarket Carrefour sponsors the leader’s jersey at the Vuelta for the twelfth year in a row and that was celebrated with the sixth stage starting in the middle of a Carrefour supermarket.
Vuelta leader Primoz Roglic and the rest of the peloton rolled out of the dairy aisle of a Carrefour in Jerez de la Frontera to begin a lumpy 185.5km route to Yunquera.
The start was more bizarre for two of the teams which are also partly backed by Carrefour’s rivals Lidl and Intermarche.
