Jenthe Biermans (Arkea-Samsic) edged out Soren Kragh Andersen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) in the sprint to win stage 2 of the Tour de Luxembourg.
The Belgian was too strong for Soren Kragh Andersen and Tim van Dijke in a bunch sprint on a slightly uphill finish. Thanks to the bonus seconds, Kragh Andersen took over the leader’s jersey from Corbin Strong.
“It is my second win of the season and the second of my career,” said Biermans, who opened his triumphs list in February this year with a victory in the Muscat Classic.
“We already knew before the start that it was a good finish for me. It was going slightly upwards, which I like. In the end, I timed my effort perfectly. I am very happy with this victory.”
